Port StarBird
Ketch had an idea how to save his house from a greedy land development company. What he hadn't bargained for was the wild adventure this little plan would send him on. Will he save his house in time or will it end in tragedy? You will just have to read this book to find out.
Many people who read books, have the ability to scan a few pages and determine if they want to continue with the story or not. If the work doesn't spark their interest in the first few paragraphs the casual reader can just put the book aside and never finish it. I am not that kind if person If I start reading a book I have to finish it no matter what. This book was a task to behold the first few chapters were extremely detailed with useless information about the environment and the character's daily activities. It wasn't until well into this story that it got interesting. I am extremely happy that I completed the work. The main characters are rich and well defined the setting is well described and despite the slow start, the middle onward it is fast paced and had a good mystery. I would recommend it to anyone who likes action, mystery, thrillers, boats, diving, noir, and books about amateur sleuths. My advice is to just stick with it and you will be rewarded in the end.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Moonstones and Murder by Michael Lynes
Maggie a gemologist in Hamilton, was having a normal day setting up for the fall gala with her husband because her employee was late as usual. Little did she know the reason for this tardiness would turn her life upside down. Can she solve the mystery before her world falls apart? You will just have to read this cozy mystery to find out.
This is a decent book, the characters are rich and well defined and the overall setting is well described and are unique. The mystery itself had all the classic tropes and flowed well within the plot of the book. The only gripe I had with this book is one of the main characters was in two places at once. The casual reader might not notice this inconsistency because in one of the instances the character was not named until later. This issue does not detract from the enjoyment of the story as a whole, however. I still recommend it to anyone who likes books that feature, a cozy mystery, mild thrills, and a bit of magic thrown in to make it all fun.

Lol It’s not too extreme, but it’s not soft. It’s perfectly down the middle and you can thank me later. Lol

I’m Lisa Andrew, I’ve also been known as TheWife101 online.

1) What genre do you like to write?

I write somewhere in between dark romance and psychological romance. Some of my readers have a rough time with the characters. They make them feel things. It’s quite a compliment. I like to create emotions, hence psychological romance. And the spice. Allll the spice.

If you were to branch out from your current genre which one(s) would you like to explore?

Actually, my next project will most likely be a thriller. And you can bet on the spicy scenes.

2) How long have you been writing? What prompted you to start writing?

I started writing around 2014. I came across a celeb crush’s fanfic by accident and thought I could write it. The immediate reactions and the number of people who came to read kept me there for two years. The opportunity for me to move into publishing came after I realized I could do what I wanted with my characters. And after that, they’ve been in hell, since. lol

3) What inspires you to write?

Dreams are usually the inspiration behind the plots. It’s when I feel the most relaxed and have the most imagination. Lots of it is spur of the moment. The main plot is usually plotted, but when you’re writing sex, you can’t think these things out or you’ll just want them to be perfect. And sex is spontaneous. It’s written that way for the feel, too.

4) When a story idea pops into your head, how long does it typically take to write it (from start to finish)?

It depends on how long the project is. Sometimes I’ll sit down for months, other times it’s weeks. F**k Buddies took me eight months but that’s a 120k story. I’ve written 10k words and have published them. Those are basically written sex scenes out of movies – a little bit of story at the beginning, a little at the end.

5) What did you find to be the most difficult part of the writing process? Easiest?

Any writing process is different, I find. There’s grammatical things I just can’t seem to help screw up on the first draft – like tense. Then there’s struggles during the first round of editing. Giving it to people is even difficult because you know it’s not how you want it yet. Every step I make matters, and it’s all difficult. Motivating yourself is probably the most difficult. But at the end of the project, you know you’ve got something good.

6) Of all your characters whom do you most relate to?

I relate to the characters as much as I would relate to the next person. There are things I may have in common with them, or I might not. I can guarantee you I wouldn’t get along with some of the people in my stories. There’s no one in specific that comes to mind. I hope to always write original characters.

7) Is there one of your characters that you did not like when you started writing about them, but found yourself liking by the end of the story?

These people I write about are my favourite people. I love them all for many reasons – even the bad guys. My characters are my creations, I get to share them with readers.

8) What is your least favorite part about writing? The most?

Writing is fun. Editing sucks, but rit’s essential. I hate editing. But until I can hire an editor, I do my own with some wonderful friends. They make it all worth the while. The people I meet and who support me are the best parts. The ones that read the stories and believe in me mean all the manuscripts are worth it.

9) When you are not writing or editing what do you do for relaxation?

I really like to listen to music or watch movies. Or junk tv shows. My guilty pleasure is 90DF. Lol I run an Instagram rating movies too, but I like to keep that one a secret.

10) What genre of books do you like to read?

I’ll read anything, really. I like to support my fellow indie authors as much as possible. So as long as I can keep doing that, I’ll read whatever anyone wants to give me. My favourites are erotic with drama, thriller, and psychological horror.

11) What author(s) do you enjoy reading? Why?

Again, it has to be the indie authors. I love the group of us because we can be as many genres as we want to. Our stories don’t follow boundaries. They’re completely original and we love that. lol

12) Tell us about your books where can people find them?

They can find them pretty much everywhere. It varies from place to place, but you can find them on Amazon as well as Apple Books, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, etc.

Amazon.com

Apple Books

Barnes and Noble

Twitter

Lisa's Playground

books2read.com

Instagram.com

Youtube

Goodreads.com

Tumblr

Pinterest

Sally,

Thank you so much for offering to do this interview. If the writing and the characters are good, then I can devour them quickly. Secondly, I have I have aphantasia, a neurological condition that leaves me with a ‘blind mind’s eye’: the inability to mentally visualize my thoughts. While most people are able to ‘see’ images associated with stories and thoughts when their eyes are closed, I have never had this gift. When I close my eyes, I experience only darkness. I have no visual sensory experience. This means if the work is not vivid enough, I can't imagine it. It is kinda like watching tv with your eyes closed you know what is happening but you cannot see it. Finally, I am extremely honest reviewer if I enjoy the work I will tell other potential readers so. On the other hand, if I do not like something I will also say so without prejudice. Therefor you as a reader can trust my reviews to be as accurate as I can possibly make them. I understand that everyone has their opinions and you may not like the same things I do, but I hope that my musings help you make informed decisions.

My thoughts about Lisa Andrew's Books

F**k Buddies by Lisa Andrew

Christa Taylor had a blind date from hell. This simple encounter which should have ended before it began, lead to crazy events which turned her life upside down. Old friends and new ones duke it out in a hot mix of hate, love, sex, and betrayal. Who will come out on top? You will just have to read this crazy book to find out.
This is a will they, won't they romance at its finest. When the characters are not having sex they are mad at each other for having sex with others. The sex is hot and woven into the plot with all of the action feeling part of the story. The characters are believable and their emotions register as genuine. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes erotic sex that makes you want to read this book alone, romance, drama, romantic chemistry that bleeds off the page, relationships that are threatened by uncertainty external obstacles or internal strife leading to chaos.

A witch with no magic moves back to her home town after her husband's death to raise her child. Chaos ensues when her daughter gains powers, a string of robberies plagued her neighbors, and her friend becomes the main suspect in a murder. Can she solve the murder before her friend goes to jail. You will just have to read this book to find out.
This is a cozy mystery thriller at it's finest. All the classic elements are there. It was a quick read with good flow, plot development and character building. I would highly recommend this book as it was a solid foundation for a series. If you like cozy mysteries, thrillers, will they, won't they romance, then this book is for you. The characters were believable and their conflicts did not contrast with the story each person played their part well to move the plot along. Some if the magic elements were vague and the movement between scenes was a bit choppy, but this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story and I personally look forward to more installments.

Some if the magic elements were vague for instance, there were only three examples of potion usage for a book with potion in the title. Plus the movement between scenes was a bit choppy and hard to follow. These issues did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story and I personally look forward to more installments.

When his friend was injured in a jousting accident Boone promised to take his place as lead in the upcoming gig happening in New York. What started out as a simple request soon turned into a chaotic whirlwind of danger, mystery, and crazy magic which lead Boone on some extraordinary adventures in both the present and the past. This book is a time traveling musical orientated composition filled with melodic motion.
This is a fast-paced story with believable characters. After the vague prologue this book picks up speed and flows well for the rest of the narrative. The only issue I had with this book is at one point the female protagonist was looking at her phone causing her to bump into the male character as a first meeting. Later, when the male said "Use your phone. Call the police!" She said "My phone battery died this morning." She even reiterated its low power status when it rang later she took the phone out of her purse and said. "I was sure my phone died this morning." This issue could just be a simple clerical error which may not bother anyone but me. It does not detract from the overall story and I suppose she could have been looking at her phone to see the status out of habit as if she was confused why it was out of power. This action would explain the statement later when it rings, but at no time bumping into the main character does she put it back in her purse. That issue aside, I would still recommend this read for anyone who likes action, swashbuckling, mystery, self discovery, classical music, magic or an all around quick read that leaves you satisfied and still has an open ended storyline which could continue into future novels.

In this thriller a freelance FBI agent is tasked with finding the missing children of the FBI's special informant. All the evidence seems to point her to one man, but this conclusion is too asymmetrical much like her own body so the agent starts to question everything this investigation leads her to some disturbing revelations. Even though everything seems lopsided can she discover the identity of the unknown man before it is too late? You will just have to read this unique story to find out.
This book is a journey of deep self discovery packaged into a mystery thriller. It has a unique plot, unusual characters, and an overall unexpected outcome. It almost reads as if the author wrote it backwards they had an idea for a dramatic ending then they worked their way towards the why and the how. The agent was disabled, but she used those disabilities to solve the case so it made sense in the end. The trip took a long time because before any action could take place several paragraphs were dedicated to either her physical or mental state. This is understandable due to the growth required, but the repetitiveness of the statements had a tendency to be tedious. How many times can one read about a sweaty chicken cutlet stuffed into a bra? I enjoyed reading this book despite this and would recommend it to anyone who likes characters archiving self discovery, thrillers, mystery, or unusual suspects.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Story maybe magical in total, but singly it leaves something to be desired.
This is a story about a town that requires a conduit to filter the good and bad magic. The honor of being the conduit transfers from one generation to the next. Han was brought from San Francisco to a magical town where her family lived. The question is will she take over the job from her father?
My first impressions of this book were unfavorable but I read the whole thing because I thought my poor feelings were unfair due to the fact that I have not read the rest of the books in the series, and have no rapport with the characters. While the underlying plot is interesting, the characters are undefined and are hard to relate to. The overall descriptions of the people and places are repetitive and unimaginative and the climax of the story is undramatic. The two most interesting characters are the ghost king and the albino Olm and they are in the story limited amounts. I really wanted to like the characters but they did not grab my attention their plots were all over the place with hints to past events that I had no knowledge of and it was like reading a flash fiction instead of an entire novel. This confusion may be elevated by reading the rest of the series. If you like magic that seems to only be in the fabric of the town making the buildings enchanted, a Ghost King, who can stop time and transport people into a wood to tell them a story, a talking amphibious lizard walking on land, and a sassy cat whom has her own mystery solving club. Then this book is for you, but make sure you read the other books in the series first or you will be very confused. If you are looking for an action packed fantasy adventure with magical elements, then I would recommend looking elsewhere.

After many years of nursing her aging father when he died, Helen, was finally free to live her own life. She decided a drastic change was necessary to vanquish her demons that included a move to Paris. While there she met an older man and had a whirlwind romance which lead to marriage and the birth of her daughter. When her daughter was born, Helen thought her life of suffering was all worth it, as there is no greater power to heal than, love. This however is just when Helen's life really gets interesting as a series of events will change her life forever. Does she have the will power to survive it all? You will just have to pick up this wonderful book to find out just what happens to Helen and her family.
This is a well written dramatic book filled with passion, love, sorrow, perseverance, and intriguing characters. If you are a mother, are going to be a mother, or are a daughter, then this book is a must read. It captures the beauty and devotion of a mother who, despite all odds keep fighting for everything she believes in. As a mother of four children all of whom have had various medical issues, and a wife of a disabled man, I could highly relate to Hellen. She was so human that she almost seemed real, her grit, passion, and hard work even in her darkest hour was very motivating. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books about, romance, drama, powerful woman, stories about overcoming insurmountable odds, and the ups and downs of normal everyday life.

Good start but needs a bit of polish.

This book is about an epic battle of dragons versus man. Both plant and meat eating dragons are under attack by the king. The herbivore dragons are helped by a wizard who sends them into the sky. A great idea is spoiled by jealousy, however, and tragedy for all is the result or is there still hope? You will just have to read this book to find out.
This is an interesting young adult fantasy novel filled with action, adventure, dragons, magic, and friendship. The underlying plot of this book is well thought out and is interesting. The characters were somewhat diverse and flowed well with the plot. For the most part it is a solid read, because of its uniqueness, and it made a good fantasy. The biggest downfall of this book was the overall writing style. For example, there were many overused phrases such as "Kicked the horses into a gallop" was used three times in the same paragraph consisting of only four sentences, and that is just one of many examples. There were also several phrases which didn't fit into the time period like "the king and his pose". The whole book said a lot, but lacked a good description of the environment, and characters. The beginning started out strong but as the story within the story unfolded the characters and the world they lived in seemed to loose depth and the overall book became tedious. It is hard to say whether or not I would recommend this book to any reader. I enjoyed the storyline, but the monotonous phraseologies and lack of connection to the characters made it hard to read. Some older readers may dislike this, book due to these factors and should pass. On the other hand younger individuals who pay less attention to details, and the repetition would not bother them, would probably enjoy the dragons, and magical undertone, but there is a lot of violence, so finding the correct reader demographic may be difficult.

Brooke is an unofficial investigative consultant for the police department and even though the chief of police does not like her attitude, or methods at the behest of a sexy detective, he sought her expertise when a slew of unusual murders started happening around town. When she hits a dead end in the case and her roommate was hurt, Brooke has to turn to her, eccentric neighbor for help, this unusual woman uses some unconventional means and an old car to get some answers. Together they must find the killer before he strikes again.

This book is a wonderful example of a skillfully crafted who-done-it mystery with a time travelling supernatural twist. This author is a master of the time travel genre, well rounded research transports the reader into the past where the truth to the present lies. Throughout the whole book the characters are believable, the plot is fast paced, the twist is fantastic, and Brooke's strange comfort cat is funny. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries, thrillers, psychics, romance, or an all around good read. Curl up in your favorite reading spot with a cup of tea and check out another thought provoking read by this award-winning author.

This is a story of five friends who are lost in the forest and during their journey to get home, they learn the value of friendship and self-worth. This is a Christian based chapter book with discussion questions after each chapter. In some settings such as weekly Bible study or homeschool classes, this book would be a good source of curriculum. As a general read, however the questions are distracting and break up the flow of the work. The story and life lessons contained within are still insightful and entertaining. The characters are rich and the ending is unique. I would recommend this book to Christian homeschools and bible study groups. I would encourage the authors to make two versions of this book one with the questions for those looking to expand on what they have read and one without for those who just want an interesting fantasy fairy tale read.

Princess Azia Rose always lived in the shadow of her adopted mother the infamous Sleeping Beauty, but this did bother her as she liked being independent. She has been content to just look after her disabled brother secretly play fighting him with swords behind the castle. Until her parents decided due to an unrest among the dragons she must marry in preparation for ruling the kingdom. The hijinks that ensue after this bombshell is a fairy tale within itself. This story is a continuation of the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty and it is a good adaptation unfortunately just as it starts to get good it abruptly ends. Despite the lack of closure I still would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and or classic fairy tales. The characters are well-rounded and believable. The plot once the introduction of the characters is complete is fast paced and enjoyable. Despite leaving you wanting more, this book as well worth the read.

Just before Miri's Omama died she gave her the cat charm she always wore around her neck. Little did Miri know this act of kindness would save her life as well as put her in grave danger. This is a unique coming of age young adult fantasy novel is filled with magical creatures, a dangerous power hungry man, and an element of self discovery that will leave you highly satisfied. Even though this is a series most, if not all questions are answered and the ending does not leave you lost. It does however leave you with an imprint of the characters and a longing to continue their stories. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes shape shifting fantasy adventures or to anyone who is looking for a light read which leaves you satisfied and wanting more at the same time.
Casandra was blinded by magic and then left alone by her caregiver. She was okay with her isolation because she had the company of a naughty monkey. One day a wounded man entered her life and her whole world was upended. In a world where love was by first sight alone, she was destined to be loveless forever. Despite the danger of being captured and enslaved she set out on a quest wither new friend to find her caregiver, what she finds along the way is more than she ever bargained for.
This is a good book it has a well rounded plot with believable characters. The world is well described and makes you feel a part of the story. It is a great shame that the author has not continued on this would be a great series. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes, fantasy, adventure, romance, This is a quick read that is engrossing and, well worth the time it takes to read despite, being unfinished.
Hollis was friends with one man and loved another. The men were best friends and they both loved her. One was a sweetheart who would do anything for his friend or his childhood crush. The other a bad boy who rode in on his motorcycle and carried them both away. This is a story of love lost and found. Hearts that were broken, then mended again. A game of upmanship with the winner to be determined by love itself.
This book was well written, the characters were believable and the overall story flowed well. The ending left you with a sense of closure even if it was emotional. I would recommend this book who anyone whom enjoys stories with happy, sad endings, battles fought between the righteous and the corrupt, decent romances, or all around good books that leave you satisfied.

When Olivia's father died, he put in his will that she was to marry a rich well to do man or live under her brother's care for the rest of her life. As a strong-willed woman she could not handle this and decided to take matters into her own hands. The problem was, she did not want to marry just anyone she wanted to marry Morgan, who had been previously rebuked by her father. So she decided to set up an elaborate plan to steal his heart. In this elaborate game Morgan and Olivia dance back and forth trying to one-up each other. Can they both stop playing long enough to acknowledge the love between them? You will just have to read this book to find out.
I highly recommend this romantic, mystery, thriller. The characters are believable, the erotic scenes are woven into the plot masterfully and while hot are not overwhelming. The heroine is strong, the hero a hunk and, mystery killer haunts the pages skillfully with his black roses. This is an all around good pick for anyone who likes, romance, thrillers, mystery, or historical fiction.
All Seasons ever wanted to do was to become a photographer and take care of her grandfather, but the son of a big time land developer may just have the power to ruin all of her plans. The biggest problem is not, whether to sell her land, she would die first, it is whether she can resist the temptation to fall in love with the enemy.
A handsome rescuer, a land deal gone horribly wrong, one life taken another misplaced, and a thriller wrapped in a romance's clothes. This is all tucked neatly in between the pages of this unique novel. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, thrillers, and books where the bad guy gets what he deserves.

Excerpt

Balancing an armload of mail, an overloaded briefcase, and a gym bag with two yogurt cups teetering on top, Dierdre Clancy rushed to her cubicle. For the fourth time this week, and the umpteenth time this month, she was late. Once again, a power outage in the decrepit apartment building where she lived had caused her alarm clock to fail.
Please, Lord, don’t let my chauvinist pig of a boss realize I’ve been missing.
The yogurt cups threatened to topple off the gym bag. Dierdre wasn’t about to let her lunch decorate the linoleum. The mail showered to the floor. The briefcase hit her foot. With her free hand, she plastered the cups to her side. The gym bag slid down her arm. The webbed strap twisted, tourniquet style, around her wrist.
She managed a couple of sideways hops that brought her to the edge of her desk. The gym bag swung wildly. Leaning against the arm weighed down by the bag’s stranglehold, she managed to dump the yogurt cups onto the desk without mishap. She pulled herself upright and reached for the strap at her wrist.
Somehow, during all the hopping, the bag had swung around her legs and gotten wedged in the narrow space between her desk and file cabinet. The same strap that cut off circulation to her hand pressed into the backs of her knees, pinning her neatly to the desk. Only an act of extreme dexterity could save her from her own folly. Imbecile, why didn’t you make two trips?
Because I didn’t want to risk having the boss see me coming in late.
“Clancy! You’re late.”
Dierdre’s heart hit the ceiling. She knew the shout—a cross between an operatic tenor and a pig at slaughter. Still, she hadn’t been prepared to hear her boss’s screeching quite so soon.
Hero Bio: Adam Talcott was born rich. He went into business with his best friend from college and made even more millions. His methods may be unorthodox, but he nearly always succeeds. Now he’s been challenged to live for two months without any of the privileges and resources he’s known all his life. Adam is confident that he can conquer this challenge as he has all others. But he didn’t count on Dierdre Clancy and that danged cat.
Heroine Bio: Dierdre Clancy grew up in a family of givers. Her parents were missionaries and often too busy saving other, less privileged people to realize how lonely and abandoned Dierdre felt. When she reached her teen years, she was shipped back to the USA to live with her Aunt Shea on Shea’s rundown farm and animal shelter. Finally she was in a stable environment with an adult she could count on. Dierdre went on to gain a degree in social work and took up the Clancy family tradition of helping others. Most of the time helping others was easy. But Adam Talcott broke that mold and every other box she tried to put him into. How could one man be so difficult to manage?
Meet and Greet with author:

Please introduce yourself, who are you and what do you do?
Hello Sally, Thank you very much for hosting me at Wolf’s Reading Den and sharing The Catnapped Lover with your followers. I’m Rue Allyn. I write Contemporary and Historical romances.

What genre do you like to write?
Oops, I think I already answered that

If you were to branch out from your current genre which one(s) would you like to explore?
I have a few paranormal (Fae) stories that are begging me to write them. Since magic is so hard to resist, I probably will.

How long have you been writing? What prompted you to start writing?
I have written all of my life. I cannot recall a time when I did not write. I started writing professional in 1996 and had my first book published in 2001.

What inspires you to write?
Pretty much everything inspires stories for me. However, my thought process almost always starts with “what if . . .” As an example, I have a historical romance that is being reissued in September of this year. The title of that book, A True and Perfect Knight, is taken from a line in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. The narrator of the tales is describing on of the pilgrims he is traveling with as a “very true and perfect knight.” The description was ironic for Chaucer, since the character described was a squire and definitely not a knight. The squire was, however, decked out with all the trappings that his master—a real knight—should have been wearing and wasn’t. The contrast put me to wondering what exactly is a ‘true and perfect knight,’ and what if a man with that reputation had to learn to be not quite so true and perfect

When a story idea pops into your head, how long does it typically take to write it (from start to finish)?
If you mean from the first work of a draft to publication the process takes about six months. The book is usually compete, edited and proof read, but getting reviews, setting up blog dates and a thousand other things needed to ‘get the word out’ about the book takes another three months.

What do you find to be the most difficult part of the writing process? Easiest?
Drafting is easiest, because a first draft doesn’t need to be understood by anyone but the author (me). What is most difficult is that last three months of ‘getting the word out.’ Most writers (and I’m typical) are an odd mix of introvert and extrovert. Put me behind a desk writing or in a chair reading, and I’m clam happy. The world could explode around me, and I would never notice. But put me in a very crowd of people, and I become nearly catatonic. I’m most extroverted in smaller groups of two to ten. Then it’s hard to get me to shut up. Most social media feels like a huge crowd to me. I have to make Herculean efforts to overcome my natural introverted behavior in that situation. Blog posts and interviews like this one are easier to do than the short FB, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. simply because I can imagine myself talking to one or two people—the blog host(s). I hope that makes sense to you and your readers. Writers are pretty weird people, but we’re very nice.

Of all your characters whom do you most relate to?

All and none. That’s the short answer. No author can write without putting something of him or her self into the book being written. Often the ‘something’ is very small pieces of personal experience, belief or opinion. So small that unless you know the author extremely well (or the author decides to tell you), you’d never be able to pick those pieces out of the entire story. The Catnapped Lover has a number of pieces from my personal experience. I knew a woman whose character was a tad different than Shea Doyle but she owned a run-down farm and took in just about every stray she came across—including people. I am a cat person. For almost fifty years, I had one or more cats in my life. Like Adam Talcott (hero of The Catnapped Love), if you put me to work on a farm, I wouldn’t have the first clue how to do anything. Little pieces of myself are scattered throughout The Catnapped Lover and every book I’ve written.

Is there one of your characters that you did not like when you started writing about them, but found yourself liking by the end of the story?

Not in The Catnapped Lover. I even liked the supposed villain of the piece. I’ve written two books with strongly villainous characters (The French Duchess and Knight Errant). I admired those to nefarious gentlemen for their inventiveness, but I didn’t like them. I mentioned A True and Perfect Knight earlier. The hero of that story, Sir Haven de Sessions, is pretty unlikeable at the outset. The book starts with him insulting the heroine, and he’s never even met her—ugh. However, by the end of that book, Sir Haven becomes a hero the heroine (and I) could truly love.

When you are not writing or editing what do you do for relaxation?

I read just about everything or watch television and movies, and I travel. All of those things help me refill my authorial well.

Tell us about your books where can people find them?

Thank you very much for asking. There are a few buy links and media links given below, but you can find excerpts and other information about all of my book on my website. Just go to my books page and click on the book you most want to know about.
Please introduce yourself, who are you and what do you do?

Hi Sally, thank you for allowing me to visit Wolf's Reading Den and for featuring Land of Falling Stars.

What genre do you like to write?
I love romance and write in many genres, paranormal, western, contemporary and historical.

If you were to branch out from your current genre which one(s) would you like to explore?

I did write a New Adult Romance last year – Season, Unforgettable and really enjoyed writing the story of Rann and Season. For some reason, the book played like a tape in my mind, which really surprised me. Not all books are easy to write, but this one must have wanted to be published. I consider it a romance, but one reviewer said, "I loved how this romance book turned thriller!" Like I said, Season, Unforgettable took on a life of its own. (Season, Unforgettable, https://books2read.com/u/b620oJ)

How long have you been writing? What prompted you to start writing?

I believe I started writing my first book, Decadent Deceptions in 2008. I thought about writing for many years before I actually sat down to write. I think when I read To Kill A Mockingbird in the 6th grade, the seed was planted. But life gets in the way-marriage, children, sports activities and all that. It wasn't until my children were older that I actually planted my butt in the chair and began writing. (Decadent Deceptions, https://books2read.com/DecadentDeceptions)

What inspires you to write?
Watching people (hope this doesn't sound creepy). Lots of times I go to a large mall, sit on a bench with a notepad and watch people interact. I pay attention to their clothing, their body language and mostly their expressions while they're talking. Sometimes I can hear the conversation as they pass. It's a very interesting study….how people relate to one another.

I also get ideas for stories from something I read on the Internet or while doing research in a certain era. The idea for Land of Falling Stars actually came from a real life story about how a southern family crumbled when one brother fought for the North, the other for the South. Only one returned home when the war ended. This happened all the time during the Civil War, cousins would fit against cousins and many neighbors living in border towns were split on which side they supported. (Land of Falling Stars, https://books2read.com/FallingStars)

When a story idea pops into your head, how long does it typically take to write it (from start to finish)?

That depends on the length of the book. I've been writing for some anthologies lately. That's where 8-9 authors each write a story and they're compiled into one book. These stories have shorter word requirements, like 30,000 words. A story for an anthology might take me several months. A full-length novel of 80,000 words takes longer, usually 4-5 months. It also depends on the amount of research one must do to make the story authentic. For Meko's Woman, I did hours of research on the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers. With stories about Native Americans, a writer must do a lot of research on mythology, beliefs and customs of the particular tribe. While it's loads of fun, it's also time-consuming. (Meko's Woman, books2read.com/u/4Ey2Ze). Note: This book was previously published under the title Where the Rain Is Made, was nominated for a Bookie Award and received 35+ five star reviews.

What do you find to be the most difficult part of the writing process? Easiest?

The most difficult part is discipline. While you have no one standing over your shoulder telling you to write, you don't do well in this competitive market unless you continue to produce books. That means writing every day, or setting a word count goal every day. There are perks to this too. As I said, no one is standing over me with a whip. LOL. It's nice to have this freedom.

Of all your characters whom do you most relate to?

I think there's a little bit of me in all my heroines (maybe some of my heroes too), but not one in particular that stands out. If authors say their characters aren't like them, that's a stretch. Lol. Every experience we have, every person we meet, stays locked somewhere in our brain. I happen to believe authors draw on those experiences and people (especially themselves) when writing their books.

8) Is there one of your characters that you did not like when you started
writing about them, but found yourself liking by the end of the story?

Oh, yes. Frank, the cop turned private investigator, from my Crossroads series (Gay romance) is not very likeable. He's crude, rude and selfish. I intentionally wrote him that way so by the end of the series, he'd 'find' himself, learn how much he had to lose by being such an unlikeable person, and discover redemption. This series is not for everyone. First, because of Frank's character, second, it's gay romance, and third, it's very erotic. But it's also a love story. 9) What is your least favorite part about writing?

You're never done when you type 'The End'. After that comes all the promotion which is never-ending. Promoting the book, blog tours, ads, interviews, and a dozen other marketing events follow publishing EVERY story. This is also very time-consuming but something authors must do in order to remain competitive in the market. It's necessary but not as fun as writing.

10) When you are not writing or editing what do you do for relaxation?

Thank you for asking. It's one of my favorite things to talk about. I'm a huge animal lover. I spend my spare time supporting and contributing to the local animal shelter, whether that means visiting so I can help exercise the dogs or dropping off towels and/or food for both cats and dogs. I'd love to take all of them home, but, of course that isn't possible. I do what I can in small measures. I also like to study genealogy, read, and play cards.

11) What genre of books do you like to read?

I do read romance but never when I'm in the process of writing one. Mostly, I read mysteries, thrillers and paranormal novels. I'm drawn to ghost stories and discovered only recently I often write about them, no matter the genre. My latest western romance series features ghosts - Comes An Outlaw (https://books2read.com/ComesOutlaw ) Comes A Specter (Free on Kindle Unlimited: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GXBF25X/) and the third book in the series is Comes A Lawman (in the process of writing).

13) Tell us about your books where can people find them?

Another question I'm very fond of answering. Thank you again for asking. I've listed some of my books and links above, but you can see all my books and read my reviews on my Amazon Author Page: https://www.amazon.com/Keta-Diablo/e/B002BODURI/

The Civil war took everything from Sophie her mother, father, brother and her man. She stood alone in the world until the fateful day when a Yankee stumbled down her driveway having enough of pain and loss she raised her father's gun and shot him. Much to her dismay, her old wolfhound bounded off the porch and started to lick him in the face. She hurried to the wounded man's side and there on the ground lay her childhood friend. Floods of emotion filled her the kind that bubbles inside until you can no longer contain them. Can she save him and herself or will her stubbornness tear both of them apart. What happens next is a journey of insight into the soul that will leave both the characters breathless.
This is a well written historical romance with rich characters, plot and overall flow. The lovemaking while instence is not overpowering or out of place in the overall story. The characters are well rounded and follow their personal, journey well. This book is well worth the read. The fight scenes while a bit repetitive are not badly written and flow well with the rest of the plot.

Lauren couldn't pass up an opportunity to visit her aunt in Minnesota. She hated leaving her father, but she was ready for an adventure. Little did she know that she would find something that she never knew she needed and something that she had lost. On her journey she will experience the power of lust, the sorrow of loss, and the joy of life. Will these experiences give her enough knowledge to be able to make the hardest decision of her life. Enter, you will just have to read this book to find out.
I really enjoyed this book it is well written and the characters were believable and realistic. Lovemaking was hot and steamy, but not overpowering the overall story. This author is a master at making you feel part of the story. You really feel the love hate relationship, along with the characters. The individuals in the story are so real, It makes you want to cheer at their triumphs and cry at their losses. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, westerns, drama, or a good adventure book. It's well worth the read and I personally can't wait to read the next installment.

Coy was heading home to visit his MA and Pa before heading to Utah what he found on their ranch was much more than he and his heart bargained for. Jesse Santos loved her husband, after he died, she talked to his ghost who promised "Help is on the way." The help that arrived in her front yard took her breath away and she had to fight to get it back. Together Coy and Jesse fall in love and work through death to be together.
Fantastic fast paced, romantic read, filled with all the best elements, lost man, lonely woman bit of drama to separate them so they have to fight to get back together. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a lightweight romance they can read in public. Other than a few steamy kisses this is safe for those who do not like highly descriptive sexual scenes.

This is a tale of passion and pure lust, which endures through every obstruction including time. When Francesca saw the fires burn across the prairie that day she had no idea those hot flames would find their way into her heart. Meanwhile I Am The Wind who was sent back in time to take care of his people never thought he would loose his heart to a green eyed wild cat because wondering Cheyenne dog soldiers were supposed to be loyal, fierce, and free. Unable to stop themselves the pair fly through war, punishment, and time just to fall into each others arms.
This is a fun fast paced mystical, historical, romantic, fiction. The love scenes while a bit repetive he always used his knee to spred her legs for example are woven into the story masterfully and do not overpower or get lost in the story. The history is interesting and sad it is amazing there are any Indianas left in America after what we put them through. The magic is unique a man turning into a raven and flying through time to help his people is one of a kind. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who likes historical romance or a quick romantic read.
